For me January is a month to reorganize. I think that’s because the Christmas – New Year’s celebrations dominate the last half of December. Normal schedules are upended as decorating the house, searching for gifts and celebrating with friends become a priority. The stat holidays ensure that everyone has time off and some businesses add additional vacation days between the stat days, making solid break between the old year and the new.

This January I am combining planning with a rush to complete my submission for the Amazon novel contest competition. Though the contest has not been announced yet, and so there is no guarantee that it will be held this year I want my manuscript to be ready for any contingency. Though it will be a disappointment if the contest doesn’t come off, I see the process as being beneficial. I’ll have an edited manuscript ready to be published. A win win all around.
